Supporting Tunisia’s new generation of women leaders
A new generation of women leaders is emerging in Tunisia. Following the adoption in 2016 of an amendment to the Tunisian electoral law that included a provision supporting gender parity among municipal councils, 47% of representatives elected in the 2018 local elections were women. However, discrimination against women is ongoing and often undermines their involvement in local politics.

In view of the upcoming virtual CIB annual meeting, we would like to ask the CIB members to share information on examples of the COVID-19 activities that they are developing within their ongoing international capacity programmes with local governments. CIB organises successful webinar on Women Leadership
On April 2nd, the CIB Working Group organized a webinar on Women Leadership, which was attended by almost 90 participants.
DeLoG holds 13th annual meeting in The Hague
From 23-25 May, the 13th Annual Meeting of the Development Partners Network on Decentralisation and Local Governance (DeLoG) took place in The Hague, the Netherlands, hosted by VNG International. Around 30 participants from bi- and multilateral organisations working in the field of decentralisation and local governance took part in DeLoG’s 13th annual meeting and contributed to fruitful discussions.
