One year ago, a military coup happened in Myanmar and VNG International project activities came to a standstill. Their project partner, Loka Ahlinn, immediately put all activities on hold, strongly rejecting this illegitimate coup. 

The Department of Public Administration at the Faculty of Law and Public Administration of Birzeit University is organizing a conference on Sustainable Development under Conditions of Conflict and Crisis (war, post War, Occupation and Conflicts).

This conference will help researchers to discuss the possibility of achieving the SDGs under conditions of crisis. It will also attempt to examine possible options for countries and societies living in crisis, conflict and occupation, such as Palestine, to promote their development process and in order not to leave anyone behind.

On 24 October, a webinar on working in countries and cities in crisis was co-organized by the CIB working group and the UCLG Working Group on prevention and management of territorial crisis and hosted by FCM. This virtual environment provided an opportunity to share experience and good practices in working in countries and cities in crisis and to learn from each other.
