UCLG Africa

From November 28th to December 3rd, 2022, the 6th edition of the African Forum of Territorial Managers and Training Institutes will be hosted in the Souss-Massa Region. This 6th edition will be an opportunity to present, discuss and provide answers to the various issues related to the challenges of training and capacity building of local elected officials and staff of local and regional governments in Africa.

Specific objectives of the Forum include:

For the period under review and taking into account the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Academy focused its efforts on digitalization and online activities to enable UCLG-Africa to remain connected with its Members, Networks and Partners.

The main activities carried out focused on :

1.  Enlargement of the UCLG-Africa Partner Network through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with The African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD) established in South Africa.

For UCLG Africa, 2018 will be a pivotal year. Key event is the 8^th edition of the Africities Summit in Marrakech, Morocco, on 4-8 December 2018. However, the African Regional Section of UCLG and its African Academy of Local Authorities (ALGA) have many other activities lined up.
