Palmira wins UCLG Peace Prize 2022

The municipality of Palmira in Colombia has been crowned winner of the UCLG Peace Prize 2022 during the UCLG World Congress in Daejeon, Korea.

The UCLG Peace Prize is an award that celebrates local governments that implement successful initiatives for peace in their communities. It generates more attention for this important role of local governments and provides a stage to strong examples, in order to inspire other local governments to start peace projects of their own.

Apply for second edition of the UCLG Peace Prize!

Since the 7th of November it is possible to apply for the second edition of the UCLG Peace Prize, to be handed out in 2019. The Peace Prize aims at creating momentum for local governments worldwide that implement strategies for conflict prevention, peace-building and post-conflict reconstruction. The Prize celebrates successful initiatives undertaken by local governments and stimulates others to follow suit.

UCLG City of Bogotá Peace Prize: finalists selected!

The high-level jury of the UCLG City of Bogotá Peace Prize has selected the five finalists for the prize. The Peace Prize is a triennial award for local governments that have implemented innovative initiatives in conflict prevention, conflict resolution or peace building, that have proven to have had a significant positive impact.
