We are excited to update you on the upcoming CIB webinar.  

Over 240 local and regional governments representatives, including 70 Mayors and Regional Presidents, carried out joint mobilization at the most recent High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) to convey local perspectives on the localization of the 2030 Agenda, in July 2018. For the first time ever, the HLPF included an all-day meeting of local and regional governments with United Nations high-level representatives, national governments and civil society.

An increasing amount of local governments have started with the implementation of SMART technologies in their municipal budgets. This is one of the conclusions of the latest working paper of the Uraia platform, which was published in December.

The Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC)  Steering Committee met on 3 and 4 September in Mexico, hosted by the Mexican Minister of External Relations. UCLG Champion on Development Cooperation, Berry Vrbanovic, Mayor of Kitchener and Vice-Treasurer of UCLG, supported by the CIB Working Group Secretariat,  attended the meeting on behalf of the local and regional  constituency represented by UCLG WS and FOGAR in this forum.
