VNG International investigated in collaboration with PLATFORMA which national and regional funding instruments are available to local authorities in EU member states to get started with decentralized development cooperation with municipalities in EU partner countries.
Over the past decade, decentralised development cooperation has been recognised and institutionalised in many European countries, and stimulated through dedicated programmes and funds. To provide an overview, the study "A Concise Overview: HOW EU MEMBER STATES’ NATIONAL AND REGIONAL PROGRAMMES SUPPORT LOCAL GOVERNMENTS' DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES IN PARTNER COUNTRIES" was recently published.
