Are you a government, humanitarian or development actor working in displacement contexts where data and information is scarce or not agreed upon? Are you planning a displacement profiling exercise but you need some guidance and support to do so? If so, the Joint IDP Profiling Service (JIPS) would like to invite you to request its support in profiling displacement situations.
JIPS primary mission is to provide field support either on-site or remotely, in the form of strategic advice, technical assistance, training, tools and guidance. Since 2009, we have supported over a hundred exercises around the world and have become recognised as a global knowledge hub on profiling, and as an “honest broker” for our impartial, collaborative approach to establishing sound and mutually agreed evidence to inform joint interventions and responses.
Specifically, JIPS support can include one or more of the following:
- Discussing the need for profiling with different partners and the relevant way forward;
- Capacity building through training as well as working together on a data process;
- Facilitation of the planning and coordination of a profiling process;
- Help in shaping the methodology for the profiling exercise and developing tools;
- Support operational planning and implementation of data collection;
- Support during data cleaning, analysis and reporting;
- Facilitating development of recommendations based on findings and dissemination, including engagement with displacement-affected communities.
