With great sadness, we honour the memory of our dear colleague Sara Hoeflich.
Sara was a highly valued member of the UCLG and CIB community and a dedicated advocate for local governments and international cooperation. Her generosity, expertise and unwavering commitment to our work touched countless colleagues and partners across the global local government community. Sara had a remarkable ability to bring people together, build bridges across cultures and organisations, and create an environment where people felt heard and valued. Through her vision, dedication and humanity, she made a lasting contribution to our movement.
For the CIB community, Sara was an important part of our shared journey over many years. She was always there with thoughtful advice, strategic perspective and a genuine willingness to support others. Sara was one of those people who made an organisation stronger simply by being part of it. Her professionalism, warmth and care for colleagues left an enduring mark on the CIB network and the many partnerships she helped bring together.
We will honour her memory by carrying forward the values she embodied every day: collaboration, generosity and a continued commitment to connecting local governments and strengthening global cooperation.
Our thoughts are with Sara’s family, friends, colleagues at UCLG and all those who had the privilege of working with her. Sara will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by the CIB and UCLG community.
