Is your city working to build local care systems? This could involve initiatives to Recognize, Reduce and Redistribute unpaid care work; or to Reward or Represent care workers. Whether you are piloting new approaches, scaling existing efforts, or replicating practices from other cities—you could be eligible for a grant of up to €100,000.

The International Fund for Metropolises will award grants of up to €100,000 to support cities with their programs to support care and caregivers. The goal of the Fund is to address the time poverty of women caregivers, particularly those from migrant backgrounds, through city-driven projects that recognize, reduce, redistribute and/or reward care work, and ensure the representation of caregivers.

Applicants are encouraged to submit their most innovative ideas to ensure that caregivers—especially those from migrant, refugee, and internally displaced backgrounds and communities—are included in the project design and implementation. This could involve:

  • Piloting new approaches

  • Scaling existing efforts

  • Expanding outreach to migrant, refugee and internally displaced communities

  • Replicating succesfulpractices from other areas or cities
