CIB annual meeting

On the 17^th of June, the CIB secretariat facilitated a first online CIB annual meeting, with more than 150 participants from all around the world. Practitioners working on international programmes at local government associations and individual cities gathered to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on local government development cooperation. outputs from the meeting will be assembled in a joint position, aligned to the UCLG Decalogue.

As communicated last week, the CIB chairs and secretariat have decided to transform the scheduled CIB annual meeting 2020 into a virtual (shortened) annual meeting. After consultation with members last week, we can now announce that the online meeting will take place on Wednesday 17 June, between 14:00 and 17:00 CEST.

CIB is launching it's video series 'Faces of the CIB', in which members share their thoughts on the added value of the CIB Working Group, and the UCLG CIB Annual Meeting in Vienna 2019 in particular.

Members of UCLG’s Capacity and Institution Building (CIB) Working Group gathered in eThekwini, South Africa, from 26 to 28 September, to discuss the latest news and developments in the field of international cooperation.

As you might have seen already, the invitations are out for this years’ CIB annual meeting, which is hosted by the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) and will take place in the city of eThekwini. Preparations are in full swing for this 2,5 day event, which will gather directors and managers of international departments from associations of local governments and cities.
