The 6th edition of the Africities Summit is scheduled to take place at the King Fahd Palace Hotel Dakar, the capital city of Senegal, from 04 to 08 December 2012. Its theme will be:

“BUILDING AFRICA FROM ITS TERRITORIES: WHAT CHALLENGES FOR THE LOCAL GOVERNMENTS ?”

During the summit there will be many sessions of which some are organized by CIB members.

So are UCLGA and LGA organizing the Pan African Peer Review, a session about 'local governments solving local governments’ problems, Africa solving Africa’s problems'.

Furthermore, there will be the ARIAL Special Session on ‘How can local government representatives become stronger development partners for donors and national institutions?’

The CIB Working Group itself will also organize a session for the Africities Summit 2012. This session is about creating an enabling environment for economic development through decentralized cooperation. For more information, please click here.
