Making All Voices Count, a programme aimed at making governments more responsive, has announced its First Call for Proposals. Making All Voices Count is a global initiative that supports innovation, scaling-up, and research to deepen existing innovations and help harness new technologies to enable citizen engagement and government responsiveness.

Making All Voices Count is about seizing this moment to strengthen our commitments to promote transparency, fight corruption, empower citizens, and harness the power of new technologies to make government more effective and accountable.

The First Call for Proposals is open until the November 8 and organisations, businesses, individuals, research institutes and governments are invited to apply. Making All Voices Count aims to fund collaborative efforts, rather than one-sided approaches, and will award grants for the following three components:

- Innovation: Backing innovative ideas and technology solutions
- Scaling: Scaling successful initiatives and responses
- Research and Evidence: Building an evidence base on what works and why

Making All Voices Count is supported by the U.K. Department for International Development (DFID), U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Open Society Foundations (OSF) and Omidyar Network (ON), and is implemented by a consortium consisting of Hivos (lead organisation), the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and Ushahidi.
