UCLG Publication “The Impact of the Global Crisis on Local Governments”

The publication “The Impact of the Global Crisis on Local Governments” was presented at the UCLG World Council on 13 November 2009 in Guangzhou (China). The document is a first attempt to create a global vision of the impact of the crisis on local authorities around the world.

The document is divided into three parts:

• an article that presents the results of a survey carried out among UCLG members (67 countries) with the support of the UCLG Regional Sections and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities
• a quick overview of the crisis from the perspective of large cities
• the responses to the survey received from the six regions in the form of profile-summaries
