Volunteer candidates who applied to the Volunteer Program of the United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia Section (UCLG-MEWA) participated online in the first Volunteering Training organized by UCLG-MEWA this year.

The UCLG-MEWA Volunteer Program, which is organized with a social benefit-oriented approach, aims to provide its participants with knowledge and experience in many areas such as local governments, international activities and sustainability. With the UCLG-MEWA Volunteer Program, it is aimed to increase social awareness and contribute to the personal and professional development of individuals.

UCLG-MEWA Volunteering Training is organized every 3 months for participants who apply for volunteering. As a result of the interviews held after the volunteering training, the candidates start the volunteering process at the Organization building or online. Participants who complete the 30-day volunteer program are entitled to receive a certificate of participation.

Volunteers who participated in the Volunteering Training were provided orientation about UCLG, UCLG-MEWA and volunteering activities. In the training, participants were also informed about effective communication and teamwork, basic digital skills, and the concept of sustainability.

After the first Volunteering Training of 2024, volunteer candidates stated that they had the opportunity to better understand how they can contribute to the society thanks to these trainings.
