At the last meeting of the UCLG Development Cooperation and City Diplomacy Committee, the list of UCLG Champions on Development Cooperation was confirmed. The UCLG Champions are local elected representatives, who will disseminate the key messages from the UCLG Policy Paper on Development Cooperation and Local Government, published in May 2013.
Based on a consultation with the UCLG regional sections and CIB working group partners, the following Champions have agreed to take on the task of being the regional representatives of the UCLG Policy Paper.

The Champions will be trained to advocate for the key messages of the UCLG Policy Paper on Development Cooperation and Local Government and they will participate in regional meetings within the UCLG membership and towards regional and international development partners. In the coming months, the CIB Working Group will regularly provide updates on the achievements of the Champions on a specific part of the CIB website.
