The Hague Academy for Local Governance organises international, practice-oriented training courses for people involved in local governance. The possibility to apply for a Nuffic Fellowship to participate in one of the training courses of the The Hague Academy is open again. Mayors, council members, policy makers and project managers are all welcome to take part in their programmes, as are staff of NGOs and development organisations dedicated to strengthen local democracy.
The training courses concerned are:
- Local Economic Development (7 - 18 September 2015)
- Fiscal Decentralisation and Local Finance (28 September - 9 October 2015)
- Multilevel Water Governance (26 October - 6 November 2015)
- Security, Governance and Rule of Law in fragile states (2 November - 11 December 2015)
The Netherlands organisation for international cooperation in higher education (NUFFIC) offers fellowships for training courses, as part of the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) for short courses and the MENA Scholarship Programme (MSP). The aim is to promote capacity building within organisations in eligible countries (51 for NFP en 7 for MSP) via training and education for professionals. This is initiated and fully funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the budget for development cooperation.
The application deadline is 18 March 2015.
