NALAS Statistical Brief: Local Government Finance Indicators in South-East Europe

To support data driven and informed policymaking and provide policy–makers, experts and practitioners with relevant, reliable and comparable data on local government finance NALAS has prepared the second edition of the Statistical Brief: Local Government Finance Indicators in South-East Europe. The brief provides both national and regional indicators, in a variety of formats suitable for different target audiences. The brief includes also comparisons with the EU and where possible the OECD. Additionally, the Brief provides also a baseline (2019) against which to measure the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on local finances in South-East Europe in future years. The statistical brief can be found here.

The Brief is developed by the NALAS Task Force on Fiscal Decentralization, inspired by the OECD’s publications on Key data for local and regional governments in the EU and the OECD countries.
