UCLG recently called upon its members to contact their national governments regarding the participation at the 4th High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Busan. Members were requested to ensure that the national governments would advocate for the importance of the inclusion of local governments’ voice in the debates on aid effectiveness.
The Deutscher Städtetag and VNG International are pleased to share the letter they have sent to their national governments setting forth why decentralized cooperation is crucial for good governance, public participation and sustainable growth and how this cooperation contributes to more effective aid delivery.
