The world is undergoing a number of transformations. Our climate is changing rapidly. We are seeing major shifts in technology and in the make-up of our population. And we face risks from growing inequalities, long-running conflicts and new forms of violence. Managing these trends will require cooperation across borders, sectors and generations. So will achieving our shared vision for a safer, fairer and more sustainable world.
Global consultation
To mark its 75th anniversary, the United Nations is launching a global conversation on the role of international cooperation in building the future we want. Everyone is invited to answer to the following survey: https://un75.online/#s2
Your responses to this survey will help the UN to improve international management of these trends, and place the organisation in a better position to meet the aspirations for a brighter global future in 2045 – when the United Nations will turn 100. Do not forget to fill it out and to invite your international partners to do so too!
UCLG position paper coming up
In addition to everyone’s responses to the survey, UCLG will also prepare a paper, on behalf of its constituency. Stay tuned for more information on the work of UCLG to this regard, including various consultations among the network of local and regional governments.
