At the end of March 2014, the AL-LAs project, an inter-city cooperation network of select European and Latin American cities (https://www.proyectoallas.net/) produced its first volume in a publication series entitled Collection of Workbooks on the Internationalization of Cities.

This first book is meant to serve on the one hand as a reflection on the cooperation between cities in Europe and Latin America that is the basis of the AL-LAs project, and on the other hand to provide a comprehensive idea of the state of legal and institutional frameworks wherein local governments are required to exercise international relations. The document compares and contrasts the cases of cities in Latin America versus those in Europe.

The text was elaborated in conjunction with the department of Urban Studies of the University of Mexico (PUEC-UNAM).

The title of the publication is "Legal and institutional framework for international action of cities: Euro-Latin-American assessment and perspective" and is available HERE in Spanish.
