The Municipal Local Economic Development Program (MLED) draws to a close in December, 2014. FCM held many events in Ukraine to reflect on program successes and discuss opportunities for further collaboration. Earlier this fall, FCM representatives and Ukrainian partners gathered in Dnipropetrovsk to take stock of how initiatives such as the creation of business service centres, and a virtual trade mission helped create winning conditions for Ukraine's small and medium-sized enterprises. FCM representatives also attended the Association of Ukrainian Cities' (AUC) Gender Equality Committee Meeting. This committee is thriving due to the gender equality work done in Ukraine through MLED. Finally, more than 150 participants attended the program’s closing conference in November to share how the best practices, tools and training that emerged from the program can be replicated in other parts of Ukraine. FCM’s Municipal Local Economic Development program is funded by Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development.
