A communication from the European Commission has been released on its position regarding an overarching post-2015 framework, A Decent Life for All: Ending poverty and giving the world a sustainable future.

The Communication proposes a common EU approach to challenges such as persistent poverty, climate change and social cohesion, and seeks to build on the achievements of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and RIO+20 outcomes, in particular the elaboration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Communication is also about how these components for a future framework can be brought together within relevant UN processes.
