The Hague Academy for local governance invites you to apply for their course: Migration and Local Governance: Local solutions for large movements of refugees and migrants.

From 4 to 8 March 2019, the Academy will convene experts and practitioners for a one week course focused on the role of local authorities in the reception and integration of refugees.  

Background

The world is currently witnessing the highest levels of human displacement on record. Local authorities are at the forefront of the response to these developments, providing essential services, and developing innovative solutions to complex and rapidly changing circumstances.

Objectives

This course will help you understand the different roles local authorities can play in managing large movements of migrants and refugees. As a participant, you will increase your practical knowledge of local authorities’ tasks, responsibilities, and challenges stemming from the influx of refugees.

  • This training will take place in The Hague, Netherlands.
