March 15, 2023     cib

With only two months left until the in-person CIB Annual Meeting 2023, taking place from May 15 to May 18, we are excited to share all relevant information necessary for participation to the event. After last year successful edition in Sint Niklaas, Belgium, this year’s Annual Meeting will be in Marrakech, Morocco, and will be hosted by UCLG Africa. For the first time since the existence of CIB, the CIB Annual Meeting will be organized in Northern Africa; a fantastic opportunity.

During the annual meeting of the CIB Working Group, professionals of Local Government Associations (LGAs) and local governments responsible for substantive programmes in capacity development and development cooperation will gather to exchange information and knowledge on the latest trends in our sector, with special attention for the perspective of the Global South. Aside from various group discussions and interactive world cafés, aimed at peer learning and  knowledge sharing, various international and national key note speakers will be invited to the City of Marrakech, to provide informative presentations, case studies and best practices.

The venue of the meeting will be the Cadi Ayyad University. All other practical details are enclosed in the logistical note attached, that includes information on transport and visa requirements etc. The draft program of the Annual Meeting is also provided in the attachments.
