VNG International has won the “Decentralised Cooperation Award” at the 5th edition of the Pan-African Local Government Days, "AFRICITIES", organised by United Cities and Local Governments - Africa. The triennial international summit for African cities took place in Marrakech, Morocco, from the 16th till 20th December 2009. It was attended by more than 3000 participants (mayors, ministers, representatives of donor organizations and NGOs).
The “Decentralization Cooperation Award” was given to VNG International for the achievements made in the area of decentralized cooperation and strengthening the role of local governments. The prize is a symbol of acknowledgment from the Cities and Local Government Associations in Africa and their high appreciation of the added value of our approach.
