United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP27)

This year, COP27 will be hosted in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, signaling a return to Africa after COP22 in 2016. The Egyptian Presidency has put the issues of scaling up support, appropriate finance, capacity building, technology transfer, adaptive capacity, resilience and vulnerability to climate change, as key issues in the agenda of the discussions of the Parties. UCLG is convening a Local and Regional Governments’ Forum on 17th November.
