Buenos Aires, Argentina will host this preparatory conference for the Habitat III meeting to be held in 2016 on September 1st, 2014. The Future Places Conference is the second in a series of three conferences on management of and access to public space. This conference series is organised by UN Habitat , the Project for Public Spaces and Ax:son Johnson Foundation. More specifically, the Future Places Conference in Buenos Aires will focus on the effect of street design on city dwellers. Local governments, especially mayors of cities, play a crucial role in these conferences as they do in the Habitat III discussion in general.
