The Center for Rebuilding Sustainable Communities after Disasters (CRSCAD) organizes an international conference from the 8th until the 10th of May 2014 in cooperation with Boston Architectural College (BAC) and the School of Architecture, Art and Historic Preservation (SAAHP). The conference that is being held in Boston will explore and examine how disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and sustainable reconstruction after disasters will be addressed in context of architectural, planning and engineering education. The conference is divided into four sessions in which each session a certain issue will be discussed with the participants:

 

Session 1: Science and Technology Applications to Mitigate Natural Hazards

Session 2: Disaster Mitigation and Sustainable Reconstruction in the Curricular of Colleges and Universities

Session 3: Response and Recovery Efforts after Disasters

Session 4: Whole Community approach to Disaster Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery
