Local SDG Portal (Germany)

January 03, 2019     cib

The Association of German Cities has been working on a tool to measure the impact of SDGs at the local level. The goal of this ‘SDG Portal’ is intended to help local authorities identify needs for action on the way to sustainable development. In doing so, a focus is placed on those SDG sub goals that can generally be classified as relevant for the German community.

UCLG and the CIB Working Group are working hard to get the local perspective heard at the upcoming High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (10-19 July, New York), by collecting stories from the ground, through active involvement of Local Government Associations (LGAs). At the same time, UCLG has been developing a training module for LGAs on effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which will be tested at various events this year, including the CIB annual meeting.
