During the COVID-19 pandemic digital has been catapulted to prominence as the enabler of communication, collaboration and effective remote working. Local government has held a vital role in ensuring resident’s needs are accommodated, and digital has allowed the efficient delivery of services over the past few months.
We have witnessed the launch of a multitude of applications and examples include Adur and Worthing Council’s voluntary support case systems, London Borough of Sutton’s waste centre demand management tool and Oxford City Council’s local SME and business directory.
The response has been vast and varied where IT and digital solutions have played an enabling role in the public sector. Nevertheless, the spotlight is now shining on these solutions as a central pillar required to maintain business continuity across the country and enable councils to help staff and the communities they serve.
This webinar will hear from speakers across the sector on their experiences of using digital and technology to coordinate teams in the swift delivery of solutions and key tools that alleviated the pressure COVID-19 placed on communities.
Speakers include:
Cllr Neil Prior, Cabinet Member for Transformation IT and HR, Pembrokeshire County Council, LGA Innovation and Improvement Board
Lee McSparron, Head of IT, Pembrokeshire County Council
Justin Hoffmann, Programme Manager Digital and change, Dorset Council
Cy Cooper, Financial Support, Business Management, Wirral Council
